Shift: 2nd 

Compensation: $19.50 - $29.28/hr

We currently have various openings for Material Handlers in Rendering. This is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available are including but not limited to, performing various rendering and tissue processes, operating heavy equipment, charting and reporting progress and yields, and in many cases the use of tracking via computer, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities. This job is important because it is vital to our process to process product and waste from various divisions around our facilities into rendered products. The Material Handler must be trained in lock out tag out for safety reasons. To perform this job machinery must be locked out so the employee can safely check various components of the equipment. In order to perform this job, employees must maintain equipment. The process must be documented multiple times a day and the record will be kept manually or digitally. There may be some data that is not collected at all facilities based on business unit or even plant specific information required. While performing the duties of a Material Handler, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing or walking the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility. Need to be able to lift 60 pounds.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintaining Processes such as rendering and tissue processes
  • Lock Out Tag Out
  • Disassembling and re-assembling equipment
  • Sampling product
  • Tracking, reading, or creating reports manually or via computer
  • Ensuring food safety and quality
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping
  • Maintaining a safe working environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship 
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Meat processing experience
  • Production experience
  • Work history in the past 12 months
