JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Senior Lawyer, Derivatives and Commodity Markets will independently handle legal affairs for a business, developing strategic legal solutions for complex business issues by partnering with business leaders. We seek a professional who will provide legal advice and recommend action to executives and management on critical company issues.
Research, analyze and interpret proposed and existing laws, statutes and regulations.
Identify, evaluate and address issues of legal risk.
Independently structure, draft, negotiate and approve legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial and operational matters.
Independently research legal principles and precedents, consult with outside counsel, draft and execute legal documents and gather relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods.
You will provide expert consultative guidance for and initiate strategic long-range goals and objectives. You may provide direction to lower-level team members and be a key contributor.
Other duties as assigned
J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
Minimum of eight years of related work experience
Expertise in the area of Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) / National Futures Association (NFA) regulations
