Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Category Manager helps the Cargill Animal Nutrition U.S. Retail team build a best-in-class category management capability. We seek a professional who will analyze and translate customer data along with consumer and market insights into strategies and tactics to drive category growth. They will partner across the U.S. Retail Strategic Marketing team to conduct studies to develop high-level trends, recommend innovation, and inform marketing and market research. market research. This position will directly support our strategic retail customers in the Ag Retail Channel.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide analytics support to deliver market insights to internal/external business clients.
  • Identify growth opportunities via assortment, pricing, and distribution for both internal / external clients using data and analytics
  • Analyze markets to find opportunities and inform business and marketing strategies.
  • Help drive overall category shelving strategy at the customer, including product flow, segmentation, and assortment recommendations
  • Ensure customer is leveraging the latest / best in class category management insights to make merchandising decisions
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as marketing, finance, business, etc. or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience with syndicated data, shopper analytics, category management, or insights
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience with MS office
  • Knowledge of space management and category planning
  • Able and willing to travel 10% of the time to locations with the US territory

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Consumer Path to Purchase research
  • Experience working with animal feed or supplements
  • Quantitative background
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
