Job Purpose and Impact

The Portfolio Director for Cargill Health Technologies will provide thought leadership and direct the strategy for our product portfolio and strategic marketing vision, tactics and business implementation for a complex business unit. In this role, you will provide expert knowledge and lead the use of market insights through to launch and positioning of products and services in a sector. You will lead a team of around 12 people (6 direct reports) focused on where and how to grow our business through new product innovation and through positioning, pricing and market growth strategies for existing product portfolios.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner collaboratively with our commercial, technical and marketing teams to ensure our strategic short and long term product and services pipeline is in place to achieve business goals.
  • Establish portfolio goals and communicate progress toward achieving those goals.
  • Maintain existing product portfolio rationalization for both current products and future products.
  • Lead phased deployments of commercial excellence tools and align these tools to portfolio and marketing work including segmentation, pricing and product life cycle best practices.
  • Provide leadership for strategic pricing projects for key global multi species products.
  • Lead and mentor the team on deal management and negotiations on smaller partnerships, investments and acquisitions and lead portfolio fit rationalization between current and target mergers and acquisitions for large questions that have portfolio overlap.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in program management office, portfolio visualization and measurement
Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience

PREFERRED 
MBA
Experience in feed, food and/or nutrition
Experience with MyPPM
Exposure to Cargill Marketing Academy tools or other Marketing specific training 
Experience with new product devleopment in highly technical (R&D heavy) spaces
