Job Purpose and Impact

The Mail and Delivery Service Supervisor guides the mail and delivery services staffing, daily workflow and processes for inbound and outbound mail and package delivery needs for one or more locations. In this role, you will set objectives and deliver work that has a direct impact on the achievement of operational targets and schedule or service standards within a team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide supervision and support for a team of direct report employees. This includes communicating and monitoring processes, reviewing individual performance, and aligning development goals.
  • Provide system administration for file-print-mail invoicing process and inbound package tracking system.
  • Using general knowledge and experience of mail and shipping operational policies, procedures, industry practices and standards serve as the resource for routine to difficult or varied problems.
  • Schedule staff to meet workflow needs.
  • Identify and explain processes and expectations for inbound and outbound mail and package delivery and pick-up.
  • Ensure customer needs are being met, assign or create new mail stop locations, handle email distribution lists for corporate mail services and assist with coordination of dedicated courier schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with multiple facets of mail and shipping procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Minimum one year of directly related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • USPS Mail piece Design certification
  • Experience operating postage and mail inserting equipment
  • Prior experience with file-print-mail processing / mail addressing technology
  • Experience with inbound package tracking system
  • Minimum two years or more for supervisory experience
