Job Purpose and Impact

The Continuous Improvement Lead position is responsible for conducting CI activities at the Timpie, UT Salt Facility as well as one to three additional smaller Salt facilities in the region. This position conducts activities related to the portfolio leadership, governance and control; key project execution, value realization and measurement; capability and culture development; business partnership, and stakeholder management. The CI Lead is accountable to identify and deliver maximum value to the business through a metrics management approach, while expanding the continuous improvement process competencies across the sites.

Key Accountabilities

  • Directly provide updates on the project objectives, performance measures, issues and risks to partners and management.
  • Monitor and implement continuous improvement best practices.
  • Develop and handle continuous improvement plans for projects with low cost and risk, reaching and sustaining project goals.
  • Conduct organization readiness assessments, value realization, opportunity prioritization, resource evaluation and execute continuous improvement strategies that meet business needs.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Participated in or led 5 or more cost savings or efficiency projects with measurable results
  • One or more years of experience managing projects that span across multiples teams or functions within an organization to accomplish project goals
  • Three or more years of experience performing analytical problem solving: Able to identify problems; able to apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root causes

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience 
  • Lean Six Sigma experience (Green Belt/Black belt certified)
  • Statistical Process Control experience
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Experience leading Kaizens with a team
  • Experience with change management tools
  • Experience working with an array of operations and business functions including Environmental, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance
