Sr Sensory Scientist
Job Purpose and Impact
The Sensory Scientist will apply in depth sensory and consumer insight knowledge to perform sensory and consumer research project management and customer collaboration. In this role, you will design and execute sensory and consumer projects and support innovation projects and develop and maintain a high level of sensory support and consumer research capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
• Build research roadmaps and deep sensory and consumer technical insights including category landscape, competition analysis, innovation trends in partner with R&D leaders, Marketing and Commercials
• Manage the development of new and alternative methods in complex sensory and consumer research.
• Analyze test results in terms of texture profile, taste profile, smell profile and visual profile from sensory and consumer data.
• Design, conduct and deliver reports on sensory and consumer research.
• Perform work in a laboratory complex or pilot plant utilizing equipment and scientific instrumentation.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, amendments, reports and testing SOP.
• Provide technical advice to others within the specialty and support sensory champions in APAC.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of four years of related work experience
• Other minimum qualifications may apply
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's degree or other post-secondary degree in Food Science with an emphasis in Sensory Science
• Confirmed project management knowledge
• Interpretation of qualitative and quantitative sensory data and statistical analysis
Rich experience of product and consumer insights interpretation, collaboration experience with marketing insight partner to ensure holistic understanding of consumers
• Strong skill in statistical analysis
• Experience of conducting qualitative research with good moderation skills
• Expertise in developing novel methodologies
• Commercially savvy
• Strong influencing skills
