JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
This person will be responsible to lead the merchandising team to support business needs, particularly related to Risk Management & Trading, and product line management. This position will propose and execute sourcing plans to cover all the raw materials required by business operations, including corn starch, Tapiocca starch, sugar, and specialty ingredients. He/she will need to build a strategic supplier management system crucial to the core of our business, and address the growing demand for diversified ingredient needs from Sweeterners & Texturizer business.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•    Provide advisory to commercial team for end products pricing and sales strategies; Assist sales in 
•    Assist risk management team in managing raw material (corn & starch) risk positions, procurement plans for various location plants, and risk hedging plans;
•    Work closely with each location plant to establish different sourcing channels for corn & starch procurement program, and explore merchandizing business opportunities;
•    Provide advisory to commercial team for end products pricing and sales strategies; Assist sales in providing value-added services to strategic key accounts
•    Responsible for the sourcing strategy and execution for sugar related ingredients (including white sugar, liquid sugar, rock candy, brown sugar, black sugar etc.):
•    Set up sourcing strategy for sugar ingredients depending on market dynamics of different ingredients.
•    Establish sourcing channels (manufacturer and distributors) to secure the supply of sugar ingredients stalely and cost-competitively.
•    Work closely with plant planning team to execute purchasing contracts to ensure on time delivery.
•    Provide advices on price movements, stock levels and potential opportunities & risks from supply side.
•    Coordinate with risk team and commercial team to mitigate the commodity risk of long term sales contract by leveraging cash and future contracts.
•    Responsible for the sourcing strategy and execution for related modified starch such as tapioca and potato starch.
•    Establish sourcing channels (manufacturer and distributors) to secure the supply of sugar ingredients stalely and cost-competitively.
•    Work closely with plant planning team to execute purchasing contracts to ensure on time delivery.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•    Minimum of five years of work experience as a commodity merchant/risk management analyst role with a trading house , or purchasing/selling experiences from food or feed sector. Solid knowledge about grains or corn processing industry is a must
•    Contacts in the grains & food industries and/or with other research houses is a plus
•    Other minimum qualifications may apply
