Job Purpose and Impact
The Environmental Wastewater Supervisor, will apply technical knowledge of daily operations, and all associated duties and record keeping, including maintenance of the wastewater facility to maintain environmental compliance with local, State, Federal, and internal requirements. In this role, you will lead environmental teams and guide the development of strategies, implement and sustain corporate environmental standards and ensure prevention of serious Noncompliance events.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess environmental risks, opportunities and impacts, standards and regulations and advise on potential impacts to Site Supervisors, Managers and external stakeholders by reporting daily all aspects of the wastewater operations, water usage, pretreatment and outfall compliance numbers to Site Managers and contribute to the non-confirming areas identification to establish operating standards.
- Lead the implementation of programs and processes in alignment with the environmental regulatory of government, local, and corporate guidelines.
- Implement environmental activities, including incident/accident management, training implementation and performance management to Production Supervisors and ensure wastewater treatment and how it affects their area on a daily basis.
- Provide operational leadership to audit, inspection and risk assessment processes by coaching, motivating and ensuring operators have all operations, sampling, analysis, reporting, maintenance, housekeeping, mowing/weed control complete and water quality at the outfall meets all Local, State, Federal, & Internal requirements each day.
- Review and analyze audit results to confirm compliance with corporate, local and regulatory standards.
- Communicate with Production Managers daily to ensure that dry pickup, water usage, pretreatment, Rendering Processes, system is conforming at the highest efficiency.
- Identify and assess high risk processes, conduct process hazard analysis and take appropriate action plan to ensure compliance standards are met.
- Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to solve mathematical equations and prepare statistical data, with Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Mechanically Inclined
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Minimum one year of directly related work experience
- Shall have, or able to obtain a class III Nebraska Wastewater License or equivalent within a year from hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8 years experience of environmental management system.
- One year of supervisory experience
- Chemical Engineering Degree.
