Job Purpose and Impact

As a member of our Human Resources Solutions Market Team in The Netherlands, the Employee Relations & Industrial Relations  (ER/IR) Specialist will be accountable for the execution and delivery of legal and regulatory compliance with local labor law and company policies and procedures and company based employee relations services. The ER/IR specialist will be accountable for conflict resolutions, workplace issues, termination proceedings, questions from employees and managers, industrial relations support and employee relations based investigations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide relevant and effective  ER/IR consulting services to businesses and employees in The Netherlands.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations questions and provide guidance and consultation, making sure internal clients are using the tools and resources available.
  • Maintain and develop HR data base (documents, templates, policies and MyHR portal content) to insure compliance. 
  • Proactively raises opportunities and solutions to improve HR delivery model for employee relations
  • Conduct investigations that protects the interests of all parties involved, collaborating with HR and Legal teams as needed
  • Support senior ER/IR  specialists in implementation of transformation and restructuring projects.
  • Participate in training and consultation on employee relations and compliance related topics, policies and procedures.
  • Help prepare audits, reporting and compliance reviews pertaining to local regulations and programs.
  • Independently solve moderately complex employee relation issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Participates in cross-functional HR projects within the Human Resources market team.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Employment & Labor Law.
  • Experience handling conflict resolutions or employee relations investigations.
  • Strong communication and people skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels (both in Dutch and in English).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines 
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience

Prior Beneficial Experiences

  • Experience working with key metrics tracking and reporting
