Job Purpose and Impact

Cargill’s newly established Environmental Markets business (CEM) is dedicated to capturing the commercial value from environmental outcomes that support Cargill’s sustainability commitments and include carbon insets and offsets tied to greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions and water. The CEM business development manager for the Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil (APBB) region will provide thought leadership and execution on strategic commercial priorities for the business, leveraging Cargill’s farmer-facing and downstream customer go to market (GTM) capabilities. This role’s initial focus will be carbon insets and offsets originated in Brazil. In this role, you will foster cross enterprise and cross functional engagement to deliver commercial value from Cargill’s capability framework around environmental markets. You will initiate carbon pilot projects with farmers and offset project developers and deliver expertise and guidance to commercial leaders in the region. You will implement scalable solutions through an integrated strategy of people, process, data and business design. You will partner with businesses and enterprises to execute the GTM strategy, identify and measure critical success factors and establish key performance indicators to ensure farmer, customer and organizational goals are achieved.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a solid understanding of regulation around environmental markets – carbon, water – across the APBB region, with an initial focus on carbon and Brazil.
  • Partner collaboratively across enterprises, geographies and functions to build a portfolio of pilot carbon inset and offset projects, and drive strategy and organization design for GTM and other commercial excellence priorities.
  • Provide project leadership, consulting and execution support to build GTM capabilities across the organization, focusing on carbon insets and offsets origination with farmers and offset project developers.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and project teams using an agile methodology to accelerate delivery of value capture using a minimum viable product (MVP) approach.
  • Drive commercial excellence GTM transformation incorporating accelerated continuous improvement and partner with commercial leaders, sales and functional stakeholders to measure execution and effectiveness.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging GTM practices, incorporating external best practices and insights as to where and when to disrupt, transform or innovate and utilize competitive intelligence to support exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities.

  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (agriculture, agronomy, mining, forestry, sustainability)
  • Combination of strategy and commercial experience
  • solid professional experience in carbon, environmental, or related markets
  • Other minimum qualifications may appl
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
