Job Purpose and Impact
The Associate Scientist, will plan, organize and perform scientific research projects in a particular scientific or academic field. In this role, you will develop theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and relevant pattern for research into potential new products or inventions.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
- Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
- Present ongoing work and findings to senior staff and external events and summarizes the nature and methodology of the research.
- Collaborate with industry or academic specialists to apply the results of research and develop new techniques.
- Create and conduct experiments and analyzes results and data.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- Beginning-to-working knowledge of research techniques
- Lab experience
- Two or more years of related work experience
