Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Scientist, will plan, organize and perform scientific research projects in a particular scientific or academic field. In this role, you will develop theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and relevant pattern for research into potential new products or inventions.

Key Accountabilities

• Coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
• Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
• Present ongoing work and findings to senior staff and external events and summarizes the nature and methodology of the research.
• Collaborate with industry or academic specialists to apply the results of research and develop new techniques.
• Create and conduct experiments and analyzes results and data.
• Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry 
• Beginning-to-working knowledge of research techniques
• Lab experience
• Two or more years of related work experience
