Job Purpose and Impact
This is an amazing Entry Level opportunity within the EHS team. Reporting to the EHS Manager - ANZ , the EHS Coordinator (Associate EHS Specialist) will provide assistance in ensuring compliance regarding environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations across our Australian operations. We seek a professional who will help support a safe work environment by maintaining EHS administrative processes, conducting basic EHS training and effectively using a number EHS tools and processes to support our contractor management and auditing programs.
Partnering with the operations teams you will be given the opportunity to develop as a technical expert, ready to take the next step within our organisation. This is a hands-on role best suited to talent with some knowledge and skills in operations and EHS with an ability to work as part of the EHS team to help us drive the ‘zero harm’ safety culture to the next level.
Travel will be required as part of the role and the role will be based in Newcastle, NSW.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Assist the EHS team to maintain and improve the EHS management system
- Oversee health and safety processes ensuring adequate documentation, monitoring and education are in place
- Coach and train staff and contractors to build their capability to improve and sustain EHS excellence
- Support incident investigations when required
- Encourage a positive health and safety culture and promote a continuous improvement mindset .
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualifications in Operational/Environmental, Health & Safety or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience working within an Environmental, Health & Safety environment
- Knowledge of agricultural, manufacturing, and/or supply chain safety processes
- Strong attention to detail and high level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to coach and train staff and contractors to build EHS capability
- Competent in Microsoft Office packages
- Flexible to accommodate 50% travel in the role
