Global Application Engineering Manager (open to remote)

Job Purpose and Impact
The Global Application Engineering Manager will lead, coach and develop a team to execute business goals and provide technical support in building customer relationships. In this role, you will drive process improvements and use supporting tools and metrics to identify, prioritize and implement development projects to sustain the business unit innovation capability requested by key partners (Commercial Manager). You will guide the global technical service managers team to ensure the development and transference of related information to achieve both technical and commercial successes in line with the global strategy.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate applications development work, identify solutions to customer requests, anticipate technological developments and ensure that all projects are appropriately staffed to support customer value creation.
- Identify business needs and translate customer needs to create, convert and develop these specifications into the customer market/process/project.
- Work closely with the commercial team on the transformer application and justification with the OEMs and their components partners.
- Develop strong customer relationships and build up strong global connectivity with global R&D function teams, including collaboration on the knowledge transfer and management of joint development projects.
- Handle technical budget and metrics and partner with the commercial team to acquire new business with significant impact.
- Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering
- Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and trust through technical knowledge and expertise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
- Ability to travel a minimum of 40%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years of supervisory experience
- Participation and involvement in related committees such a IEEE
- Experience in a transformer manufacturer, utility company or power sector
