Process Modeling R&D Internship:

Engineering and Data Sciences is one of Cargill's corporate research groups based in Minneapolis, MN, with satellite offices around the world. This is a fast-paced, growing area within Cargill, and impacts the full range of Cargill's operations—from processing grain and oilseeds to piloting novel food ingredients to optimizing our supply chains. Our scope includes projects from conception through process definition and plant start up to optimization of operating facilities for Cargill.  We have a diverse range of talents in the modeling and simulation space with expertise in advanced control, process simulation, linear programming, computational fluid dynamics, statistics, numerical methods, and more.

The Engineering and Data Sciences team at Cargill will provide the opportunity to apply knowledge in an industrial setting to students with a graduate engineering background. The internship program is designed to provide students with appropriate projects that bring value to our businesses.

We are looking for additional highly-skilled engineers who are enthusiastic about tackling non-traditional simulation, process control and data analysis projects.

You will be assigned to one or two core projects that will be substantive in nature.  You will be the primary technical contributor for work on the project, with leadership support from the Engineering and Data Science team. Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive periodic and candid feedback on job performance.

Internship Programming:

  • Housing assistance and relocation reimbursement are available to interns who qualify.
  • Internships are paid and are typically 12 weeks in duration.
  • Day-to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
  • As employees, interns receive access to volunteer and community outreach opportunities and paid time off for volunteer activities.
  • Throughout the internship, interns and co-ops are encouraged to participate in events that will give exposure to leadership, provide development opportunities, and offer the ability to network with cross-functional interns/co-ops across the U.S.
