Job Purpose and Impact

The Data Governance Business Implementation Specialist will assist the Data Business lead in design, business implementation and day to day execution of data governance within the business. In this role, you will drive efforts to improve data quality across the organization and ensure high quality information is readily available to be leveraged by our digital products.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the data governance and data ownership business implementation, develop and operationalize data governance and data quality policies, procedures and standards.
  • Raise the awareness on data governance across the business, educate stakeholders on the importance of data governance and data ownership, drive mindset shift towards data-driven organization and support with change management activities.
  • Identify, train and support data owners and data stewards, including the design of training materials and toolkits, to enable data owners to perform their role successfully.
  • Embed the data governance framework into the design and delivery of digital and data products or projects, helping businesses to build and maintain a culture that owns and acts on data.
  • Partner with the business and technical data teams to create insight into existing data sets, including location of golden sources, metadata, ownership, lineage and data quality.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of the data catalog within the business and ensure data governance is operating in accordance to the vision, global standards, data and business strategies.
  • Develop and maintain data quality metrics and key performance indicators to monitor and improve data quality.
  • Design and implement end to end processes to manage and resolve data quality issues and support data owners in operationalizing it.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•    Experience with implementing data governance or data quality initiatives in the business
•    Experience with data management solutions and data catalog tools
•    Knowledge of relevant topics in the data fields including data structures, data lakes, metadata and data lineage
•    Minimum of four years of related work experience
