Job Purpose and Impact

The Trade and Compliance Coordinator will coordinate and plan import/export processes, customs documentation, shipping, and receiving of foreign merchandise to ensure it arrives at correct time. We seek a professional to complete monetary transactions associated with the import in a timely manner.

Position Information

Please note this position will be based in Memphis, TN

Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.

Key Accountabilities

  • Reconcile data for quality, claims, demurrage and dispatch cases, etc.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with medium accounts, customers, clients, suppliers and external authorities.
  • Work with external authorities to verify and comply with all customs requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the home and foreign country government laws and customs regulations.
  • Prepare, review, approve and maintain files for import/export documents.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Able and willing to work overtime based on business needs
  • Experience with letters of credit UCP 600
  • Experience with forwarding export documentation and contract execution

Preferred Qualification

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience with forwarding export documentation and contract execution
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of UCP 600, ISPP
  • Experience with the International Trade Administration (ITA)
  • Cotton industry experience
  • Experience in commodity training environment
