Job Purpose and Impact

The Data Solution Architect will develop, own and manage a suite of complex data architecture and data solutions. In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders and technical and non-technical functions at the group, enterprise, and global level to deliver complex solutions that address business needs. You will analyze, evaluate, modify, configure, test and implement data solutions for our enterprise. You will drive the broader organization to be able to focus on insights that maximize the potential of getting value from our data and digital core investments and create decision-focused, easy-to-understand visualizations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the quality of architecture assets, keeping them up-to-date.

  • Monitor adherence to defined standards for the design, development and implementation of IT architecture.

  • Manage and drive the standard for data architecture, domain model, prepare data system specifications.

  • Required to participate in pre-exploration and exploration of the project to advise on the effort estimation and feasibility of the data solution.

  • Required to involve in multiple projects and be the go to SME for the consultation on data engineering technology and data solution.

  • Drive the ongoing needs of the organization to mature data and analytics capabilities instilling process improvement practices and continue exploring avenues to deliver more efficiencies and value to our business and customers.

  • Apply data architecture and data engineering best practices and partner collaboratively with data management and subject matter authorities to understand data structures and availability.

  • Develop complex business analytic solutions and prioritization through work intake and demand management processes.

  • Identify, develop and implement efficiencies to optimize, automate, rationalize and modelling, data view, and data analytics.

  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 8 years of experience in Data warehousing, Big data and Analytics platform

  • Experience in Agile projects

  • Big data tool experience in Impala is a must-have and Snowflake is an added advantage

  • Should be technically strong on other Big data tools like Hadoop, proficiency in Hive, Spark and Sqoop are good to have

  • Should understand the data flow between different systems, data conciliation, normalization of data in Hadoop platform

  • Data Modelling: Logical data model for data designing

  • Should be familiar with Github for code management and code automation to build CI/CD deployment pipeline

  • Understand, build and maintain the data lineage across various sources into a data lake platform

  • Prior experience in supporting data and process improvement efforts, including the identification, redesign, and implementation of opportunities identified utilizing data from audits and metrics

  • Prior experience in conducting analyses that require an understanding of performance variables, data management, measurement and analytics, data design principles, concepts and practices.
