JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Gourmet Technical Advisor handles product development duties as well as product demonstration for an organization. This position will provide technical and creative advice and support to customers and field staff during and after the sale of couverture and chocolate decoration products part of our Gourmet Brands: Veliche & Smet. You will support senior staff and leaders for ideation and identifies and implements solutions against business objectives. You will stay current with market development and creative advancements and work with limited supervision on daily tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Works with internal and external partners to identify customer needs and translate these into new product development opportunities, products and applications.

  • Develops, implements, and tests procedures needed to build products and applications efficiently and cost-effectively.

  • Demonstrates the use of our Gourmet brands in different applications to internal and external stakeholders to develop the business against the business objectives or as applications guidance/problem solving towards the customers.

  • Manages the design of products and recommends production methods.

  • Conducts and organizes all project plans, resources, and take part in project execution.

  • Ensures projects are achievable and align with procedural standards.

  • Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to new team members.

  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the application of analytical instrumentation principles, concepts, practices and standards

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chef by training, knowledgeable on pastry and chocolatery, understanding the needs of the Artisan and speaking their language

  • 5-10 years experience as chef in pastry and chocolate

  • Demonstration and teaching experience, speaking to audience >15 people

  • Experience in working with large end-users

  • Results oriented with emotional intelligence, energetic, good influencing skills

  • Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively as an individual and in a team environment

  • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, and cost

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with large projects extending over a period of time

  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
