Electricians are expected to be good in strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills in a very dynamic environment. Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadline, also to have the ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Fire-alarm troubleshooting and installation/construction
  • Design and carry out minor modifications on industrial equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Install industrial instrumentation and related devices

 

 

This Full Time position is located in High River, Ab; however please expect receiving calls from a 204 number in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.


Required

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
  • Ability to understand and communicate very well in English (verbal/written)
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic use of a computer and typing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Must be able to perform maintenance electrical trades
  • Alberta or Canadian Journeyman Electrician Red Seal Certificate

Preferred

  • Able to perform maintenance trades including Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
  • Prior experience in production related work
  • Able to join Hazmat team.
  • SAP experience
  • Arc flash and shock training
