Job Purpose and Impact

The Instrumentation Reliability Engineer will apply technical knowledge to design, develop and maintain overall governance on standards, application, gaps, solutions and measurements to increase production quality, efficiency and volume for the business. In this role, you will perform day to day activities related to instrumentation engineering to enable projects and improve our capabilities by providing engineering support for the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support, analyze and develop conclusions regarding areas of improvement and identify opportunities to improve performance and determine acceptable risk tolerance.
  • Support more team members to assess instrumentation engineering development and application opportunities and further distribution across common practice areas.
  • Implement and monitor audit control mechanisms within area of scope to track performance and provide actionable solutions that contribute to improvements.
  • Monitor and support progress for projects with low to medium levels of complexity and ensure appropriate resource allocations and portfolio prioritization.
  • Execute and support instrumentation engineering standards and deliverables in capital and maintenance work.
  • Coordinate and provide direct support and delivery of services for operations and maintenance work.
  • Apply general knowledge of principles, terms, and practices of instrumentation engineering to support the design and build of safe and reliable operations.
  • Work with local teams to provide design and installation expertise to support site projects and optimize existing instrumentation.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Information

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of instrumentation technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Strong technical and mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate project management skills.
  • Four years of working experience in instrumentation, such as Temperature, Flow, pH, O2, Pressure, and control valves.
  • Experience with Emerson AMS Device Manager.
  • Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning, and scheduling.
  • CCST Level I Qualified.
  • Familiar with continuous process control.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area approvals.
  • Exposure to Instrumentation Sizing Tools and Software.
  • Familiar with instrumentation calibration and calibration strategies.
  • Management of Change experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a range of automation, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
