Commodity Analyst
Job Purpose and Impact
We seek a Commodity Analyst who will retrieve, analyze and summarize data to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and predict business outcomes. In this role you will gather, analyze and interpret marketplace trends and customer data to create product development strategies.
Key Accountabilities
- Work with local traders regularly by providing an opinion and analytic data/reports.
- Conduct analysis requiring a thorough understanding of the commodity or market.
- Conduct more complex market or crop research using traditional and nontraditional data sources.
- Research competitor behavior including marketing strategies, pricing, sales and methods of operation.
- Contribute to monitoring market conditions, trends and competitors to project demand and inform product launch timing.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years of related work experience
- Experience in commodity analysis, Balance sheet and weather forecasting.
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Having two years of cotton experience
