Job Purpose and Impact

The Carrier Services Representative will provide subject matter experience in the efficient movement and transportation of materials and products across a range of transport modes. In this role, you will manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships and rely on current, up to date knowledge of industry market practices and trends to find the most practical and cost-effective solutions for a range of freight sourcing activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with customer sales and account management to strategically align carrier portfolio to customer opportunities
  • Update and maintain accurate and timely information in company operating system
  • Apply a general understanding of transportation and logistics practices and procedures to assist in negotiating freight prices and contract terms for customers.
  • Analyze moderately complex transportation operations practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Foster key stakeholder relationships internally and externally for all freight sourcing activities.
  • Provide industry market updates related to the transportation related activities of the business to inform strategic decisions, developments, best practices, and events
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Information

  • Position is based in Ankeny, IA or Greenwood, AR.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided for this role


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; ability to understand and prioritize business issues and impact
  • Experience in the following transportation modes (Reefer, Van, Flatbed, Full Truck Load)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent business software
  • Experience working in a brokerage, fleet operations or in a supply chain position
