Position Purpose

We currently have an opening for a GB Blend Mix operator. This is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. The role includes but is not limited to, performing various ground beef processes, operating heavy equipment, charting and reporting progress and yields, and in many cases the use of tracking via computer, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities.

 

This job is important because it is vital to our process to process product and waste from various divisions around our facilities into rendered products. The GB Blend Mix operator must be trained in lock out tag out for safety reasons. To perform this job machinery must be locked out so the employee can safely check various components of the equipment. In order to perform this job, employees must maintain equipment. The process must be documented multiple times a day and the record will be kept manually or digitally. There may be some data that is not collected at all facilities based on business unit or even plant specific information required.

 

Principal Accountabilities

Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:

  • 80% mixing and blending various products by grade
  • 10%  Ensure paperwork is completed correctly with correct inclusion areas
  • 10%  Interact with co-workers, quality assurance and management to communicate production needs
  • Ability to potentially work outside or regular production scheduled shifts

 


Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Read, write, and speak English.
  • Must have good attendance.
  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production or food processing environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plant operations sufficient to guide and train employees
  • Must be highly motivated, energetic and willing to help communicate the importance of customer satisfaction to all employees.
  • Basic knowledge of safe food handling practices.
  • Basic knowledge of employee safety practices.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Beef experience.
  • Meat processing experience.
  • Production experience.
  • Work history in the past 12 months.
  • Ability to lift 80 pounds.
