The Senior Reliability Engineer position is responsible for being a key leader on the Maintenance and Reliability management team. This position will work with the Reliability team to drive the improvement of plant reliability and championing the defect elimination process. The Senior Reliability Engineer will apply knowledge and experience to ensure continuous improvement to optimize the company’s physical assets and Maintenance and Reliability processes and strategies. The candidate will be directly involved in the continued implementation and leadership of a progressive and integrated Reliability Centered Maintenance and Equipment Reliability Improvement process in a large, multiple product processing facility.
30% Lead and develop the Reliability Engineering Team and the site. Ensuring that Reliability Engineer (RE) talent is built, developed and maintained at the site in conjunction with the Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) Team Leaders and regional Manufacturing Technology organization. Leads & drives the site Asset Integrity (AI) & Mechanical Integrity (MI) programs including process standardization, process improvement recommendations and risk mitigation strategies. Champion’s asset integrity, asset health improvement on fixed assets. Drives action closure after coordinated assessments (i.e. structural steel assessment).
30% Support the site M&R Team Lead and Process Team Leads through prioritization of Reliability Excellence activities for the site. Identify and prioritize RE value creation opportunities for the site and Business. Owns the Bad Actor identification, quantification and elimination process for the site in conjunction with the region.
15% Champion of site and region asset health improvement and production process stability. Drives consistent application of Reliability Center Maintenance (RCMs) / Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) and ensures consistent follow up. Participates on regional asset health improvement processes and leads regional asset health initiatives.
10% Write and execute M&R Capital projects. Creates Reliability Standards / Operations Standards. Interfaces directly with the project engineering team on reliability build deliverables to ensue reliability principles are applied on projects on site.
10% Lead Reliability Excellence activities and initiatives. Conducts Reliability Excellence sustainability assessments and follow up actions. Share / implement Reliability Excellence best practices across the site and region.
5% Any other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biosystems Engineering or other engineering discipline that has a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mass/material balance and process design.
5 or more years experience in production, maintenance, or project management.
5 or more years direct or indirect supervisor experience.
Experience of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, infrared thermography, motor circuit, ultrasound, non-destructive examination)
Experience of management of the proactive maintenance model.

Experience with Corn Milling equipment and processes
Certified Maintenance Reliability Profession (CMRP) certification.
Certified for:Inspection techniques (UT, EC, MPI, RT, DPT, etc.) and familiarity with codes (ASME, PED, API etc.)
Working knowledge of API 510, API 570, API 571, API 580, API 581, API 650, API 653 and API 579
Formal training in Predictive Maintenance technologies (vibration, infrared thermography, motor circuit, ultrasound, non-destructive examination)
Green or Black belt certification
Supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline.
Formal training in RE principles (cause analysis, 5Y, Operator Care, RCM, FMEA, 5S)
Demonstrated experience in Inspection management and knowledge of materials (corrosion, welding, stress mechanisms, failure mechanisms)
