Job Purpose and Impact

The Employee Industrial Relations Associate Director will counsel and assist our leaders on all issues guided by company's employee relations policy and labour-law legislation.  The role is also accountable for the delivery of employee experience HR services such as production staffing, onboarding and assimilation, local training delivery, performance management, employee engagement, and recognition programs within the country.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, design and interpret policies, trainings and communications, providing recommendations for corrective action, policy revision and improving employee relations, Industrial Relations and Employee Experience.
  • Coordinate the execution of programs aimed at enhancing employee wellbeing and work experience 
  • Drive execution of company reorganizations, including negotiations and management of court cases with the help of external lawyers.
  • Establish operating policies and procedures that affect departments and subordinate sections and work units.
  • Advise on contract negotiations, grievance cases, arbitrations, conciliations and federal and state labour legislation.
  • Represent management in collective bargaining with unions and Works Councils representing company employees.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions..
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Law  or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience 
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • 30% travel to Cargill sites in Germany
  • Ten years of Industrial Relations work experience in manufacturing companies 
  • Ten years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in coordinating the implementation of complex HR systems (e.g. payroll, Time & Attendance, interfaces)
