Position Purpose & Summary
This position is accountable for buying and selling Vegetable Oils as a Trader. Establish and negotiate unit price and terms of sale. Participate in the BU strategy to maintain the leadership in the region delivering Price Risk Management (PRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCHM) services to our internal and external customers based on strategic and key accounts and leveraging with transactional customers to build sustainable and profitable flows in the region.
Develop price risk strategies for buying and selling Vegetable Oils. Coordinate supply chain logistics of Vegetable Oils. Research and advice on buy/sell strategies for agricultural commodities (focus on Vegetable Oils) in Latin America. Trade cash, ocean freight, futures, and futures derivatives. This position is the link between for CASC SA Global Vegetable Product Line and the destination markets in Latin America.
15% Price Discovery (Origination)
•Information research via constant communication with main origination offices in order to determine best alternative for the region.
•Buy Physical product to Origination Offices
•Manage and Maintain Relationship with Origination Offices.
•Determine Fob/Freight Backstop for the Merchandising Team including quality specifications and market analysis.
•Consolidate and Report Regional SND.
10% Manage Risk
•Research, analyze and communicate FOB and FREIGHT information.
•Participate on physical product and slate speculation/positioning for the BU (Futures, Basis and Freight).
•Participate on BU's freight positioning strategy
•Lift subjects of Vessel fixtures.
•Lay time Trading.
•Elaborate and Execute Fob and Freight strategy for PRM Accounts
•Analyze, Execute and Follow up of PRM tools such as Flex Hedge and CRM .
•Sell physical product to customers directly or through Destination Merchants
•Product Line Position and Exposure Daily Review
25% Coordinate Logistics: Product availability, opportunities, quality requirements
•Coordinate with origination offices and OT regarding product availability and logistics.
•Keep track of the vessel process and development “vessel forwarding”. (contract terms, dates, quantities, freight, vessel load)
•Discover, coordinate and execute combo opportunities in the region (Freight Opportunities). (Stow Plan Spreadsheet)
45% Marketing and Account Management
•Price Risk Management for specific accounts.
•Marketing Support for Strategic, Key, Transactional and Potential accounts.
•Account Management/Marketing Responsibilities for designated accounts.
•Customer Relationship, knowledge, insights.
•Discover, Create and Present Value propositions to selected Customers.
•Deal, Negotiate and Resolve customer claims.
•Customers Open Demand
•Support Destination Merchants with their accounts.
•Be accountable that futures and physical contract/amendments input is correct.
•Be accountable for Costings input.
Minimum Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree (finance, economics, math, international business or related)
•Obtain Series 3 certificate USA Series 3 certification 6 months after commencement
•5 years of agricultural commodity merchandising and/or trading experience
•Supply Chain Logistics of Ag-commodities
