Job Purpose and Impact

Marketing Research and Insights Specialist III will plan, direct, control, conduct and analyze customer-oriented market research activities to identify potential customers and markets for products and services. We seek a professional who will develop and maintain marketing databases with internally driven or externally derived information sources.

Key Accountabilities

•    Partner with leaders across Cargill Protein China to identify data and capability gaps while identifying and vetting solutions for each
•    Understand efficiencies and benefits of engaging regional research partners; lead process to identify, vet, and select partners
•    Independently develop, manage and execute insights strategies across the Cargill Protein China business 
•    Develops and delivers insights and recommendations to guide business strategy and planning as the Cargill Protein China Insights representative.  

•    Independently provides research consultation, direction, project planning, and implementation to deliver market insights. 
•    Lead research specific steps of the innovation process such as consumer segmentation, workshop ideation, concept testing, from beginning to end.   
•    Utilizes extensive expertise to identify opportunities for research, understanding both the business and customers’ needs and communicating the insights needs to key stakeholders. 
•    Collaborate across multiple functions to align insights initiatives to the business needs. 
•    Independently responsible for the creation, revision, design, and methodology of research projects (e.g. sampling approach, instrument development, qualitative and quantitative research, reporting, regression analysis, data tables, questionnaires, online surveys, interviews, etc). 
•    Analyzes and presents appropriate data and insight to an internal or external audience to: 
1)    Inform and influence internal decision making. 
2)    Deliver value and differentiate Cargill from competition 
3)    Identifies, leads, and creates studies to inform and influence customer’s buying decisions and to differentiate Cargill as a partner of choice


Required Qualifications
•    Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
•    Minimum 8 years’ experience 
•    Experience leading custom research and analytics preferably in Foods Manufacturing and/or FMCG 
•    Experience in leading both primary research and category management/analytics
•    Experience leading qualitative research, quantitative research and data analytics
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting to high-level leadership at priority customers
•    Must be independent, results oriented, innovative and creative
•    Must be curious – have a desire to understand the ‘why’ and dig into the data
•    Ability to ‘connect the dots’ from varying sources and synthesize into a compelling story

Preferred Qualifications
•    Master’s Degree in Marketing Research or related field or MBA
•    Experience in both a primary research role and category management/analytics role
•    Some Business-to-business experience within a highly matrix organization
•    Regional experience working across several markets in Asia
