Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Engineer will help optimize the interconnected components of a manufacturing system. We seek a professional who will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues with all operations. We seek a professional who will collaborate with other professionals to contribute to planning, designing and estimating time and cost, overseeing and implementing projects (new constructions, modifications or process improvement projects), facilities, systems and components.

Key Accountabilities

  • Follow prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems, within oil seed operations processes.
  • Manage contribution projects as assigned, related with new constructions, modifications or process improvement.
  • Continue to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.
  • Contribute to designing and improving manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, testing manufactured products to maintain quality.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical engineer, chemical engineer or agriculture engineer) in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, in operations processes
  • Experience implementing analytical design for process improvement 
  • Experience executing engineering fundamentals and processes
  • Be able to travel (10%) to other facilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in Oil seed operations processing
  • Experience using SAP, Power BI system
  • Experience in process engineering
