JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Financial & Corporate Lawyer will independently handle the commercial legal issues for Trade and Capital Markets, Treasury, Credit Team, Corporate Secretary and businesses and functions with limited oversight from senior lawyers. In this role, you will provide legal advice and recommend action regarding matters of moderate to high complexity and/or impact, with exposure to wide variety of legal issues overtime and partner with both internal and external stakeholders. You will also lead the Corporate Secretary Team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•    Independently research, analyze and interpret proposed and existing laws, statutes and regulations to provide legal counsel to the Trade and Capital Markets Business, Treasury and CBS team.
•    Identify, evaluate and address issues of legal risk in a commercial context including a wide variety of matters, such as corporate law, financial matters, contracts, FX regulation, credit structures, anti-money laundering regulation, etc.
•    Independently structure, draft, negotiate and approve financing contracts, guarantees, collaterals, different legal agreements, written communications and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial and operational matters.
•    Gather relevant facts and information from multiple sources using probing questions and methods and apply the results to research legal principles and precedents, provide counsel on general corporate law and keep updated in corporate and applicable regulation to assure compliance.
•    Partner closely with and provide practical solutions and advice to business, functions and external auditors and syndics.
•    Engagement, oversight and cost management of outside counsel in Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Central America and other countries in scope.
•    Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
•    Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•    Lawyer degree 
•    Excellent English Communication Skills (written and verbal)
•    Minimum of six years of related work experience
•    Excellent communication, advocacy, writing and drafting skills
•    Ability to problem solve using a creative, resilient and agile approach
•    Ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships and proactively address conflict
