Job Purpose and Impact

The main role of this position is the execution of purchase and sales contracts in our supply chain book. This may involve domestic or international contracts for inbound and/or outbound movement with the focus on physical deliveries to/from ports. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Leading the high seas cross borders barge flows of various commodities
  • Leading high seas execution in Constanta, Braila and Galati
  • Validating relevant commodity and freight contracts to have the right understanding in place to optimize the execution part
  • Issuing contractual notices, handling documentary instructions and processing shipping documents for payment and cargo release as per contractual terms in agreed timelines to enable execution
  • Dealing with 3rd party service providers for freight, protection of weight and quality risk and customs clearance (river transport, port operators, labs, surveyors, APIA, etc).
  • Monitoring port loading and/or discharging operations to ensure optimum cost and avoid demurrages or any other costs
  • Handling contract finalization for quantity and quality, handing insurance, laytime calculation, claims, escalations, Reports, month end process
  • Communicating customer delivery requirements and supply availability to pipeline planner to ensure customer satisfaction at lowest possible cost
  • Processing contract applications and accruals into inventory and SAP system for accounting/month end purposes 
  • Checking and recording documents (invoices, dispatch notes, operating quantity losses in the ERP system, commercial correspondence) as per legal and fiscal requirements
  • Provide cover for forwarding activities when required
  • Provide assistance to other departments (Trading, legal, CTL, Finance when needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred degree in supply chain/logistics or related area) 
  • Proven relevant working experience – min. 3 years
  • Gafta / Fosfa contracts knowledge 
  • Incoterms knowledge
  • Relevant product knowledge (grains and oil seeds)
  • Verbal and written local and English language at advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to identify cost savings / money making opportunities
  • Good planning and coordination skills
  • Accuracy / high level of attention to details 
  • Adaptability & ability to handle stress
  • SAP system knowledge and Microsoft office
  • Additional foreign languages knowledge is a plus
  • Good understanding of the market and commercial practices
  • Experience with the vessel operation/ barges operations
  • Handling short term projects experience
