Position Purpose & Summary


The commercial beef team is responsible for bringing the capabilities of Cargill Animal Nutrition to the cattle industry.  This position serves cattle feeding, beef production and food related businesses that have potential to collaborate in long-term strategic relationships.
 
The Sales Account Manager will be the primary point person to interact with clients and prospective customers, helping them understand how Cargill Animal Nutrition can provide solutions for them and improve their profitability. Responsibilities include securing, developing, and managing customer accounts, developing account plans and business plans, and communicating and coordinating among the commercial and business teams that support our client base.  The ability to work in a team environment and utilize technical staff and other resources to support delivery of customer solutions is essential.


Principal Accountabilities


30% Responsible for direct account management, including price negotiations, service and conflict resolution, value discovery, and leading the Cargill relationship with the customer organization.


30% Actively prospect for new customers to grow market share and brand recognition by building relationships, probing for unmet needs, and determining how the resources of Cargill can be utilized to deliver value.


25% Aligns and coordinates internal team to support customer support activities, ensuring communication and direction is aligned and in sync with customer expectations.


15% Establish and maintain a strategy for business growth and direction, and provide critical inputs to the business management team.

 


Required Qualifications


• Bachelors degree and/or 3+ years of experience in sales or livestock industry.
• Deep understanding of the beef industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills both with internal and external customers.
• Proven leader, self-starter, and strong analytical and conceptual skills.
• Availability to travel 50% of the time.


Preferred Qualifications


• Proven experience and understanding of the cattle feeding industry.
• Agricultural sales and customer management experience.
