Job Purpose and Impact

We seek a Senior Software Engineering Supervisor who will oversee a team that architect, develop, implement digital & Modern application within the organization.

The engineering team exist in all 4 regions and will collaborate between region to develop solution on state-of-art platform for its 12,000+ users in nearly 13 countries in APAC.

The Engineering Supervisor in region plays an integral role in helping develop our engineering staff, manage our partner network and recruit a high performing engineering team. This role also plays a key role driving continuous improvement in our engineering processes and serving an engineering advocate for the organization by partnering closely with regional Lead Engineer and Global Engineering CoE.

This is an influential role that manages a growing team and partner network that has frequent changes and helps resolve conflicts and issues regarding delivery in addition to developing an engineering talent pool that will position Cargill Engineering to deliver innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Acts as a day-to-day, key point of contact with our management, consultants and users to understand business priorities while compiling and prioritizing, enhancements and defect resolutions to applications.
  • Guide others in technical software testing and debugging of systems and software applications, as needed.
  • Oversee a small-size team performing basic to advanced and complex programming, coding and documentation of systems and applications software.
  • Supervises day-to-day activities, which include analysis of business requirements and preparation of detailed technical specifications to write applications and programs.
  • Leads or supervise the day-to-day activities related to the strategy and technical planning of system/application technology in accordance with internal and external software compliance standards.
  • Accountable for performance management, talent development and succession planning for our engineering staff to support a regional portfolio of products.
  • Provide career coaching and mentoring for engineering staff and drive team engagement
  • Responsible for third-party relationship management of our development partners
  • Provides general oversight of our third-party engineering resources and ensures they are meeting expectations and addresses performance issues or staffing challenges with our partners.
  • Determines our best engineering mix across FTEs and third-party consultants to balance cost, risk, delivery and supportability of our products.
  • Supports regional Technical Service Manager in resource forecasting and budgeting.
  • Lead and engage in new employee recruitment focusing on expanding brand and opportunity awareness in specific communities to increase diversity of candidates and new hires.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit
  • Ability to lead engineering and project initiatives, handle conflict and serve as an engineering advocate as need.
  • Manages internship program

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 or more years' experience managing engineering teams and developing and delivering software products in an agile environment
  • Experience with software design concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated application of strong market awareness and customer focus.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, timely decisions. 
  • The ability to communicate technical and business information effectively to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Demonstrate ability to create and manage complex development projects in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to pull together diverse teams to solve problems and pursue opportunities
