Position Purpose & Summary
 
The purpose of the role is to oversee EHS aspects within CBS Bangalore & Gurgaon Locations to ensure EHS excellence. Manage risks at the sites and for all off-site business related activities in collaboration with Operations and Business. Ensure full compliance and conformance to applicable EHS related local and federal regulations, Cargill EHS requirements and Customer’s EHS requirements. Educate people managers and employees and ensure sufficient allocation of resources to achieve EHS goals. Manage change and continuous improvement as we transition to the future state and continue to evolve to a higher level of EHS maturity.
Act as a lead or technical expert to resolve site-specific EHS challenges. Identify critical EHS gaps at sites and develop mitigation activities for resolution. Continuously upskill and ensure he/she is equipped with relevant EHS capabilities. Engage people managers & supervisors and work closely with them to ensure proper EHS coverage is provided for operations & business activities. Update relevant stakeholders (sub-region, business, domain etc.) on site issues and  EHS performance (e.g. incidents, training completion)
This position reports to the EHS Lead – South India & Srilanka. This position will work with other regional EHS team, Business, multiple peers, stakeholders and contractors to achieve Cargill’s goal of ZERO harm.


Principal Accountabilities


• Implement and execute controls and programs and ensure they work as planned. 
• Implement and manage processes for environmental health and safety hazard identification and risk management.  
• Ensuring entire management team understands EHS management systems aspects of every type of operation  
• Monitoring all contractor activity in relation to accidents and incidents of non-compliance.  
• Reviewing and updating EHS documents related to ensure they are up-to-date with CEHS policy and procedures, External Certification Requirements and local laws and regulations - 25%
• Create effective emergency response plan, train workforce and coordinate test plans on a   defined frequency and validate emergency action plan.
• Participate in incident investigations based on incident classification in partnership with experts internally and externally or regulatory authorities to identify the root cause and help prevent recurrence.
• Support suitable training content and delivery mode, in line with global and regional requirements, conduct gap assessment to identify training needs, adjusting curriculum to reflect site-specific needs.
• Prepare Cargill audits, governmental inspections, customer visits, identify data and reports needed to monitor performance and compliance against goals.
• Understand risks applicable to contractor and external service providers, implement, monitor and evaluate approved processes to control Environmental Health and Safety risks with contractors.
• Ensuring vehicle safety management systems are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the CEHS/External Certification Requirements and local laws and regulations - 25%
• Benchmarks internally and externally to identify best practices of others that can be applied effectively across the location  
• Implement safety recognition programs and ensure employees are being recognized regularly
• Assure compliance with all government laws, regulations and license requirements and measure compliance with government and corporate standard.  
• Ensuring vehicle safety management systems are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the CEHS/External Certification Requirements and local laws and regulations - 25%
• Deploy high priority office safety programs in coordination with EHS team and CBS facility management. 
• Maintains and continuously improve EHS Results 
• Conduct walkthrough on daily basis and share EHS concerns with the facility management regularly.  
• Prepare monthly EHS compliance reports and carryout review with CBS Centre Lead.  
• Conduct safety trainings to all employees based on EHS training calendar  
• Ensure safety induction program deployed to new employees  
• Identifies trends, isolates root causes and leads process to ensure that appropriate follow-up actions are being implemented
• Monitor vehicle management center, at risk behaviors of drivers & compliants logged by employees and identify root casuses and develop action plan to address them.  
• Incident reporting requirements,
• Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmenal, vehicle related events are reported as per SOP.
• Assist local management in investigation process to prepare high quality report
• Create incident alert and share with the all employees. 
• Schedule SIFp Incident review with all CBS LT & CBS Centre Lead on regular basis. 
• Organize EHS celebrations like national safety week, World environmental day, earth day, etc - 25%


Education, Experience, Skills


Required Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Engg with PG / Masters qualification in EHS 

• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in EHS

• Technical skills: Require proficiency in Excel, power point presentation with good analytical capability and presentation skills. 

• Travel requirements: May require travel up to 50 % every month. 


Preferred Qualifications


• One or more years of work experience in a research field

• Written and verbal communication skills 

• Scientific and mathematical knowledge 

• Basic knowledge of at least one discipline (waste, water, air, chemicals)

Other relevant information to the position


Ability to travel up to 50 % of the time - Required to visit both CBS Bangalore & CBS Gurgaon offices every month and cover all areas over time and be in touch with team to monitor on-ground situation/reality, identify potential gaps and come up with potential solutions.
