Job Purpose and Impact

We seek an Regional Engineering Manager who will provide broad oversight and guidance for our regional Data Engineering team that maintains, integrates and implements modern engineering practices and technologies within the  defined region. In this role, you will lead individuals who conduct data engineering testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of data engineering practices and technologies and updates to installed applications. You will collaborate with peers across regions and across the greater the Engineering Management community to build an effective and authentic Engineering culture and maximize the effectiveness of our Engineering capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

    • Develop strategic relationships with local leadership and employees to help understand business priorities while delivering products and services.
    • Provide strategic direction and advise supervisors in data engineering delivery, testing and operations, as needed.
    • Supervise a local team in performing standard-to-advanced and the highly complex Data and API engineering in modern ways on modern platforms and technologies.
    • Provide strategic direction and oversight for activities, which include analysis of business requirements and preparation of detailed technical specifications
    • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.
    • Champion the high-level direction and support the strategy and technical planning of system/application technology in accordance with internal and external software compliance standards.
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of six years of related work experience
    • Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in leading or managing teams with demonstrated ability to attract, retain and develop engineering teams
    • Three years of supervisory experience
    • Three years of Data Engineering experience including technologies such as big data, machine learning or data streaming
    • Experience with full-stack engineering including application development or API engineering
    • Experience with modern engineering practices and technologies including CICD, Cloud native development, social coding (github), chatops and more.
    • Knowledge of best practice patterns and how to apply them to Data Architectures and Solutions
    • Excellent communication skills
