Job Purpose and Impact
- The Senior Manager, Communications - HR job implements the organization's business communications, including internal and external communications, business relationship and reputation management, crisis, and organizational change communications. With minimal supervision, this job implements complex communication strategies by drafting annual communication plans, supporting account management, and contributing to channel management and campaign planning efforts. This job ensures messages are effectively delivered to both internal and external partners, supporting positive relationships, facilitating successful organizational change and helping to improve the organization's reputation.
- This role serves as a strategic communications partner to HR leaders and teams, helping shape how employees understand and experience key people and culture priorities across the organization. Working closely with stakeholders across areas such as talent development, total rewards, culture, employee engagement, leadership, performance, people analytics, and organizational change, the position provides trusted communications counsel, develops integrated communication strategies, and delivers messaging, campaigns, manager enablement resources, and employee communications experiences that support both business and people outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong stakeholder partnership and consulting skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, relevant communications that drive understanding, engagement, and action.
Key Accountabilities
- STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION: Ensures accurate coordination and implementation of internal and external communication strategies by developing and implementing annual communication plans, verifying objectives, target audiences, messaging, and channels, and coordinating account management to ensure communication needs of key accounts and clients are met.
- CHANNEL MANAGEMENT: Oversees the maintenance of internal and external communication channels by reviewing accessibility of selected channels, ensuring effective updates were made to enable accurate functionality, and optimizing external channels to enhance partner engagement, improve the user experience, and maintain consistency in messaging and branding.
- CONTENT & MESSAGE STRATEGY: Reviews strategies to help plan and guide internal and external communication content and messaging by validating target audiences, tone and style, content plans and editorial calendars, and frameworks and tools to ensure content aligns with the organization's goals and values.
- REPUTATION MANAGEMENT: Oversees the organization's internal and external reputation by reviewing any issues identified, and communicating any negative sentiment, misinformation, or potential threats that may arise to management, allowing the organization to tailor communication and response strategies accordingly.
- RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Maintains positive business relationships with internal and external partners by identifying communication and engagement preferences and needs, and proposing collaboration platforms, social events and workshops to cultivate engagement, build relationships, improve communication effectiveness, facilitate knowledge sharing, and manage relationships over time.
- CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT: Handles internal and external communication campaigns by defining campaign objectives and ensuring that the campaign is implemented according to the planned timeline, budget, and quality standards.
- CRISIS & ISSUE MANAGEMENT: Builds and implements communications plans to proactively manage crises.
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Stays updated on industry trends, standard methodologies, and emerging internal and external communication platforms, channels and technologies to drive the continuous improvement of the organization's communication strategies. #LI-BT2 #TheMuse #FGB
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
The expected salary for this position is $97,000 - $125,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
