Sales Operations Specialist
Job Purpose and Impact
The Sales Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the sales organization through effective day-to-day pre-sales activities. This role acts as a strategic partner to the sales organization by providing pre-sales support to customers, improving operational processes, and ensuring timely and accurate execution of commercial activities.
The Sales Operations Specialist plays a critical role in improving the effectiveness of the sales organization. By maintaining high-quality pre-sales data, delivering accurate pricing information, and coordinating stakeholders across functions, this role enables informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and improved customer experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist Sales Managers in handling pre-sales activities and sales operations, including but not limited to new customer registration, credit limit reviews, sample requests, quotation and pricing management, and sales contract administration.
- Identify, analyze, and recommend solutions for operational and process-related issues.
- Partner with Sales and cross-functional teams (Commercial Operations, Quality, Supply Chain/Plant, Finance, and other stakeholders) to ensure alignment and smooth execution of pre-sales processes.
- Resolve routine issues and problems under general supervision while escalating more complex matters to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance commercial operation efficiency and customer experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in B2B Sales Operations, Business Operations, Customer Service, Sales Support, Sales Analytics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and ERP systems (SAP, JDE, Exact, Dynamics AX, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
PRIOR BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCES
- Knowledge of B2B sales processes, sales operations, and commercial support activities.
- Experience in problem identification, root-cause analysis, and resolution of business process issues.
- Experience in the Food Ingredients, Commodities, Specialty Chemicals, FMCG Ingredients, or related B2B industries within a multinational company is highly preferred.
