This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Merchant Assistant will provide administrative support to the trading desks. In this role, you will prepare routine reporting, lead the contracting and settlements process, reconcile positions, support grain origination and other supporting duties
Key Accountabilities
• Collaborate closely with various business partners, including the customer service, supply chain, origination, and settlements teams to achieve business objectives.
• Prepare reports and conduct analysis, such as, pricing sheets, regular origination reporting, reconciliation for positions, as well as profit and loss estimates.
• Maintain and cultivate established relationships with small accounts, customers, and other business partners.
• Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Confirmed analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent university graduates or third year university students.
- SAP experience
