Job Purpose and Impact

The Assistant Purchasing Manager, will support and execute new sourcing strategies to support businesses and functions. In this role, you will conduct day to day operational activities, resolve process discrepancies and will provide ongoing support to receive materials on time according to requirements and build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Inform the team manager of task accomplishments, report issues and status of individual or groups projects and act as a backup for the team managers in their absence.
  • Develop and maintain established relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Assist to distribute the team workload and provide reports documentation activities against the program plan.
  • Provide support to manage procurement standard operating procedure upgrades and ensure that all functional processes are defined, documented, maintained, communicated and implemented and assist to train and coach the team on operational and technical processes.
  • Assist to drive quality on existing and new process and monitor operational controls for continuous improvement to align with sourcing strategies and policies.
  • Be the key point of contact for escalation processes by applying comprehensive comprehension of operational practices, procedures and internal controls to identify areas of improvement.
  • Responsible to execute procurement processes ensuring the end to end purchase order process is completed and aligned with strategic sourcing strategies and policies.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning
  • Experience working in shared service operations
  • Minimum of four years of professional experience and two years of relevant procurement experience
