This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Sales Assistant will provide moderately complex, varied to routine administrative and clerical support needed to develop customer sales strategies. In this role, you will coordinate, integrate and implement assigned administrative or staff functions to assist the protein sales team located in Logan, NJ.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply knowledge of department operations and infrastructure, policies and procedures to perform moderately complex administrative processes.
  • Assist in the development of customer sales strategies to meet customer goals and objectives by helping process customer orders and manage overall order fill rate and on time delivery service.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, diaries and travel arrangements.
  • Solicit, collect and organize documentation and data, performing moderately complex data entry into one or more systems, including customer order entry.
  • Receive and relay messages and respond to varied and routine administrative requests.
  • Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese
  • Food industry experience in Beef, Poultry, and/or Pork
  • Experience with SAP 
  • Proven experience selling products in a business to business environment

Position Information

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
  • Minimum travel is required to cover the area of responsibility.
  • This is an onsite position located in Logan, New Jersey.
