About the role

Working with the Trading team you will provide administrative support to the trading desks throughout our peak harvest period. On a daily basis you will support in reporting across position reconciliations, profit & loss estimates, and daily commodity pricing. This highly collaborative role will have extensive exposure to various teams and functions within the Cargill supply chain, as well as the opportunity to liaise with external customers & suppliers.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Harvest Trading Assistant will provide administrative support to the trading desks. In this role, you will prepare routine reporting, commodity pricing, profit and loss estimates and other supporting duties. This is a 5-month fixed term contract to help support the Trading team through the harvest period, with an ideal start date in September.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and cultivate established relationships with small accounts, customers, clients, suppliers and other business partners.
  • Collaborate closely with various business partners, including supply chain and field team to achieve origination objectives.
  • Prepare reports and conduct competitive analysis, such as, pricing sheets, regular origination reporting, reconciliation for positions, as well as profit and loss estimates.
  • Liaising with Traders to update pricing throughout the day.
  • Other support and administration duties to the trading team.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications with a background in Agriculture/Business/Engineering/Finance
  • Interest in Financial markets / Commodity trading / Agriculture
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work semi-autonomously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
