Position Purpose & Summary

  • To be part of a self managed shift team working both days and nights following a shift rota.
  • To operate the plant safely and efficiently whilst optimising production through the best utilisation of the plant’s equipment.
  • To achieve World Class operating performance and ensure safe working practices are adhered to by Cargill personnel and contractors .
  • To undertake Problem Solving, Autonomous maintenance and decision making within the plant and within a self-managed, Continuous Improvement environment.
  • To effectively communicate with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and improving 5S standards throughout site.

TASK PROFILE

Preparation Plant

  • Ensure Safety Standards are maintained in the plant by following work permit procedures , inspections, Unsafe condition reporting etc. SEE STAY STOP.
  • Ensure process conditions are monitored and any deviations in process are acted upon and process is brought back to normal operating conditions.
  • Walk critical path and conduct Autonomousmaintenance Inspections.
  • Collect samples and  perform analysis on MPA, NIR
  • Monitor and adjust flakers and crackers through regular surveys
  • Inspect and adjust other equipment such as conveyors and screws speeds, pellet mills adjustments, level controls.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties as required.
  • Report any faults in plant equipment in Maximo and liaise with Maintenance to facilitate maintenance activities in safe way. PTW, LOTO.
  • Carry out Fire Pump and Critical Device testing

Extract plant

  • Ensure safety standards are maintained in the plant by following work permit procedures , inspections, Unsafe conditions reported. etc.SEE STAY STOP.
  • Ensure process conditions are monitored and any deviations in process are acted upon and process is brought back to normal operating conditions maintaining quality parameters in specification.
  • Ensure process is operating within environmental operating limits as per PPC permit.
  • Carry out regular plant inspections and Autominance maintenance Inspections. 
  • Carry out CRITICAL SAFETY DEVICE tests as per schedule.
  • Report any faults in plant equipment in Maximo and liaise with Maintenance to facilitae maintenance activities in safe way.

Refinery

  • Ensure safety standards are maintained in the plant by following work permit procedures , inspections, Unsafe condition reporting etc. SEE STAY STOP
  • Monitor all important process variables making adjustments to ensure the process stays within normal safe operating limits whilst maintaining quality parameters in specification
  • Ensure process is operating within environmental operating limits as per PPC permit
  • Carry out clean in place tasks on plant as required.
  • Carry out regular plant and Autonomousmaintenance Inspection.
  • Report any faults in plant equipment in Maximo and liaise with Maintenance to facilitae maintenance activities in safe way.

General Duties

  • Tanker off-loading and outloading of products
  • Continuous Improvement ideas and implamatation.
  • Basic Mechanical tasks as appropriate. Autonomous Maintenance
  • Plant inspections (housekeeping and safety surveys in all areas)
  • Perform Safety Inspection as part of Company Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • NVQ III/HNC in mechanical or chemical engineering, or process engineering,
  • Or Strong experience within an industrial process environment.
  • 5 GCSE’s grade A-C (including English and Maths)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience of working in a self managed team environment.
  • Continuous improvement Methods.
  • Basic mechanical engineering and diagnostic skills.
  • Planning and organisational capability.
  • Knowledge of HACCP.
  • First Aid Certificate/ FLT licence.
