Job Purpose and Impact

The factory controller will provide timely and relevant financial reports and insight by acting as the finance business partner to both management and operational teams. In this role, you will work closely with different stakeholders to ensure result are timely, qualitative, analyzed and understood. You will provide continuous improvement of financial reporting best practices & product costing expertise. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide finance business partnership for management teams by understanding and supporting the business challenge, risk and strategies.
  • Manage cost accounting and controlling processes and analyze the monthly manufacturing cost and plant performance. 
  • Implement yearly product costing planning initiatives which include production volumes and spending and calculate and analyze activity rates and allocations.
  • Assist in the design and development of costing solutions and ensure alignment with other processes, using knowledge of complex costing and pricing models and their impact on design, profitability and controlling profitability analysis reporting.
  • Review and approve new and revised bills of materials and receipts to ensure they properly reflect the true cost of production and align with the business product costing policies and strategies.
  • Analyze product costing trends at the cost component level and identify and report on trends including fixed versus variable costs.
  • Routinely monitor purchase price variances and process order variances and proactively identify, research and facilitate correction of pricing or activity errors and monitor the execution of monthly product costing estimates.
  • Provide analysis for non distributed or non allocated product costs, analyzing root causes of issues and facilitate resolutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Provide general expertise for product costing, assist in drafting policies and procedures that impact the material ledger or product costing and assist in building and validating processes that support adherence.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience,
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning product costing
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with SAP in Product Costing
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting principles (GAAP), IFRS reporting.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost drivers
  • Good exposure in Product costing, Manufacturing Performance Management Reporting, Project Management & Budgeting
