Job Description:
A Batcher positively leads a Team in both Personal Safety and Food Safety, ensuring their team members adhere to the Company’s policies and regulations. This position is responsible for following the Refining Schedule, operating a variety of grinders, pumps, valves and other associated refining equipment which produce chocolate paste, including Quality checks to meet the specifications of products. This position is also required to enter Daily data entries into SAP and excel work sheets. In addition, holding Team members accountable for good housekeeping practices and accurate documentation.

Shift available: 2nd shift
Compensation: $22.50/hr plus shift differential $0.50/hr
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manually lift and dump ingredients (bags and/or blocks) into specified hoppers
- Measure ingredients and document amounts and lot number’s according to formulas
- Maintain raw material inventory logs and reconcile daily
- Empty garbage bins used in Batching department
- Use pallet handling equipment to move product or ingredient materials as required(internal training provided to obtain forklift license)
- Maintain all production areas in a neat and clean condition
- Properly account for any ingredient spills or scrap
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, may be required to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Must be able to work in various weather and industrial settings
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with advance notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems
- Previous forklift experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 to 5 years of related food manufacturing experience
- Able to perform maintenance trades including, lubrication, hydraulic and pneumatic
- Basic mathematical skills
