Job Purpose and Impact
The Process Engineer applies engineering techniques to assist in the improvement of canola oilseed manufacturing processes and products. In this role, you will provide technical support, operations experience, continuous improvement and project management skills in a canola crush plant support capacity that ensures safe, efficient and low-cost plant operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Review and recommend oilseed manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and to promote quality and reliability.
- Assesses current oilseeds manufacturing equipment and processes and makes recommendations for changes.
- Helps to fix and repair oilseeds processing equipment. Shows results in reports.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Possesses working knowledge of engineering subject matter
- Minimum of three years of related work experience – ideally in oilseeds Crush and or oilseeds refinery environment
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience or certifications
- Understanding of PI (data historian), ACAD (auto CAD), MS Project
