Principal Accountabilities
Safely move trailers within the yard including both empty and loaded trailers
Work with Operations team(s) to prioritize tasks
Accurately report equipment statuses and productivity information to the shipping supervisor
Perform Yard Audits 3 times a shift just before each break and lunch
Ensure Jockey truck is in safe working order to include pre/post-trip inspections
Place wheel chock under trailers after backing in
Check temperature settings on trailers before and after placing them into a dock door
Change settings as needed
Refuel truck and trailer(s) with diesel fuel as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Must be able to operate a Yard Truck
Must be able to back up a 53’ trailer
English fluency over radio communication
Ensure that all standard operating procedures are being met
Be able to complete a pre shift inspection of your truck
Ensure that all food safety procedures and practices are being followed
Ensure that all safety procedures and practices are being followed
Ensure safe work procedures are followed by all employees in the dept
Ensure you are wearing proper personal protective equipment
Employees must always work and act safely and must accept equal responsibility for their personal safety and that of their co-workers
Be able to work outside in different weather
Be able to complete trailer inventory reports
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual preferred but not required
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Previous experience operating a jockey truck
Prior work history in a fast-paced environment
