Market Data Specialist
Job Purpose and Impact
The Market Data Specialist will be a part of Cargill’s Market Data Services Group. In this role you will be responsible for managing market information and data to support Cargill’s Trading and Risk Management, and manufacturing functions. This includes identifying sources, working with data providers on the right subscription / contracting models for Cargill, and managing agreements through their end-to-end lifecycle.
Additionally, you will be responsible for core activities required to support this portfolio of Market Data, including vendor and internal reporting, Exchange Declarations, audit support, inventory (user, application), management, invoice management and internal recharging.
Key Accountabilities
Market Data Administration (40%)
• Involves creating and maintaining vendor and subscription records in Cargill’s Market Data system of record with vendor information, subscription and service information, recharging information, and key contract terms.
• Supporting contract negotiation at initiation and renewal, with information on vendor and existing services.
• Accurate and timely record keeping in the system or record.
User Inventory Management (MAC-move, add, change) (40%)
• This involves coordinating updates with vendors and tracking through Contract Management System.
• This includes permissioning of services with vendors, allocation of service costs, cost center changes, and user setup/changes.
Reporting (10%)
• Scheduled reporting; collating information and structuring for exchange declarations, vendor compliance / licensing analysis and so on
• Create adhoc reporting to Cargill businesses as requested using various tools.
Process Efficiency (10%)
• Ensure the efficiency of processes owned by the MDS team and that they are properly documented.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience: Finance, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
• 5+ years of experience with market data administration.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously and within a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work with people at varying levels within the organization.
• Strong Excel Skills.
• Service oriented approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Flexible, creative, and organized to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates strong customer focus.
• Demonstrates a strong desire to continuously improve existing processes.
• Ability to understand and interpret contract terms for accurate capture and support around contractual use, high attention to detail, and the ability to align with standards and follow processes to provide a consistent experience and structured way of managing and sharing large amounts of complex data and knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
• 3 to 6 years of experience working in a Market Data Services role.
• Experience with and/or knowledge of Optimize Spend / Financial Information Tracking System (FITS).
• Experience with and/or knowledge of SAP ERP system/s.
• Experience with and/or knowledge of front-office tools such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg.
• Experience working with market data vendors and exchanges such as CME, Platts, Argus, LSEG etc.
• Candidates should have initiative and be enthusiastic about striving to improve processes and user experience.
