Job Purpose and Impact
Cargill’s EMEA Energy and Optimization Team (EOT) manages a yearly natural gas spend of 600M Euro and an electricity spend of 120M Euro in 8 countries. The scope of activities covers physical sourcing, active hedging, and renewables. To enforce our team, we are looking to hire an Energy Contract Specialist.
The Energy Contract Specialist EMEA will partner with the EMEA Natural Gas and Electricity Leads to ensure consistent contract development and negotiation support. In this role, you will evaluate contract compliance and communicate with others on complex contractual rights and obligations.
Locations considered for the role: Mechelen (BE), Paris (FR), Geneva (CH), Amsterdam (NL), Dusseldorf (GE) Sofia (BG)
Key Accountabilities
Request or approve amendments to contract terms or contract extensions.
Execute drafting and negotiating supplier contracts.
Help prepare bids or requests for proposals, including specifications and requirements.
Execute negotiating contract terms and determination acceptable bids.
Monitor sourcing policy to adhere to regulatory requirements.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years of related work experience
Knowledge of physical electricity and natural gas markets
Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in energy supply contract and project assistance, tail spend contract negotiation and complex data management as well as in diverse administrative systems (SAP and energy data management platforms) roles in the energy, and/or utilities sector
- Experience with energy purchase agreements or other energy transactions across multiple power markets and technology
- Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, and communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels
